Anna Silk is a Fredericton native and the child of Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of abilities, which included the ability to act, direct production, create plays teaching, as well as be the director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's dad is from Britain, as is her mother was is a Turkish Cypriot English expat. Anna Silk remembers her mother watching perform in play rehearsals.
