Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was who was born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father was from an ethnically Jewish family Ryder considers herself Jewish. The actress has a younger brother Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her along with their children in Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. In those days, there wasn't electricity. Ryder who was an avid reader aged 12 years old, became a reader because Ryder was not able to access television. Ryder began taking acting classes at the age of Ryder was 12years old in the American Conservatory Theatre. Lucas, a 1986 film which was her first big part. Ryder was only fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her time in high school. In 1988, she received her breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in a variety of films. In 1993 she received two nominations in the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part in The Age of Innocence.
